DEMO TEACHING IN GRADE 3 : PREPARE, IMPLEMENTATION AND FINAL RESULT
1. LESSON PLAN
Before teaching, I made a lesson plan for Mathematics subject with Topic "Additional without Regrouping".
This was a big challenge for me, as it was my first time teaching and making lesson plans in class. I collaborated technology and traditional learning media used in Elementary Lab School-DMMMSU to be used in Mathematic subject.
This is my Mathematic's Lesson Plan, Topic "Additional without Regrouping".
2. PROCEDURES OF TEACHING
In this section, I ask the students to recall the math topic covered previously. The previous lesson was about comparing the value of money. Then I show the 1-digit addition flashcards and every students have a chance to answer.
"It is mathematics time. Hooray!
Let's all get ready learn together
Mathematics is fun
We will play with number
Clap your number 1...2...3... Hooray!"
THE CORE PART
PRESENTATION OF LESSON
I told the students about our learning
topic today, which is about Addition without Regrouping to add 4 to 5
digit numbers up to two addends with sums up to 10,000.
Regrouping is estimate the sums with big or small numbers and the skills is useful for your life. This is step for add 4 to 5 digit number without regrouping:
- Write the add
- Addends in columns
- Begin adding the ones then the tens, the hundreds, the thousands, and up to the greatest place value.
- Next, you have to check the sum by adding up
I make 3 groups with three problem
solving. They will compete to solve the problem solve’s question. Every group
have a chance to answer one question and get a reward like a love, star, and
flower sticker.
GENERALIZATION
I asked the students to review what was
learned today and how the steps to solve question about Addition without
Regrouping.
In this part, I make test instrument for all of students at Grade 3 for assess the extent of their level of understanding of what they learned today.
I make 10
questions in the test instrument and star column score.
Question number 1-5, I make problem solving questions.
Question number 6-10, I make regular questions about Addition without Regrouping.
